CELEBRATION OF THE 6TH SAFFRON FAIR - RED GOLD

The Monreal del Campo fairgrounds will once again be too small from June 5th to 7th for the VI Saffron Fair - Red Gold, an event where all the space is already reserved and where it is expected to once again reach the figure of around 6,000 visitors that has been registered in recent editions.

The event will once again have a strong charitable focus, with proceeds from Saturday's lunch and Sunday's dinner going to the Multiple Sclerosis Association of Teruel (Atuem). "We are maintaining the same charitable spirit we've upheld year after year," emphasized the mayor of Monreal, Mario Latorre. Last year, all 200 tickets for the fried egg, sausage, and saffron lunch and the 300 for Sunday's paella sold out, allowing the association to donate €1,600 to Atadi.

The venue will be a hive of activity throughout the weekend. “There will be show cooking all three days,” assured Latorre, who, although he hinted that there will be many more activities, did not yet reveal what they will consist of within the weekend's program. The venue is already completely booked, with some thirty exhibitors already confirmed. “We are very pleased,” said the mayor of Monreal del Campo.

Even before the last edition had wrapped up in Monreal, Mayor Mario Latorre announced that in 2026 the focus would be on demonstrations, especially cooking demonstrations, which "prove to be successful." In fact, the cooking demonstration by Daniel Yranzo, chef of the Aragón TV program La Pera Limonera, which drew over 120 people to his stove, was a testament to the appeal of renowned chefs as an incentive to attend the event.

Among the exhibitors will be the main representatives of saffron from Monreal and the Jiloca region, who will act as protagonists and guides for the organoleptic characteristics of this product.
